This thread can go on forever I feel.... In order to quit we all need an extra dose of WILLPOWER I find 1 x 5ml teaspoon 4 times day helps a lot taken with a HUMOUR tablet (500mg) all available free of charge no prescription needed. Anyone agree? ex-slave, I haven't been here much lately, but I'm SO glad to see you still quit and doing so well in your quit! You've definitely gotten through the first part just fine and are now about to begin another adventure. In order to quit the losenges, I would go about it the same way as quitting cigarettes. Set a date, get some coping mechanisms ready, when it's finally time to quit, get rid of all of your losenges, make a list of rewards you will use, and then just do it! You're addicted to nicotine and will continue to be a slave to the nicotine as long as you are on the losenges. So quitting them is VERY important! No, they're not as bad for your health as smoking, but they are just as expensive, if not more so, and can STILL have a negative health impact, so quitting them is very important. Think about how much money you will be saving by quitting them! That should be a good motivator for you in and of itself! So use that to help you along and don't forget the rewards! They're important too! You're going to feel great once you are finally free of this addiction for good! I LOVE being completely smoke, nicotine and smokimg-thought free! And so will you! Crave the Quit! Hi ex, You could get rid of the cigarets so you know that you can do anything you want. Try to switch to normal chewing gum, in a few days you will see that they work just the same. It's all in your head. Quitting smoking is something you did and you did it good. You can get rid of that other addiction too. Love Dutch :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 306 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,189 Amount Saved: 902.7 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 14 Mins: 45 Seconds: 52

I have had several quits with NRT that varied in success. However, I went back to smoking every time I got down to the lowest doses and/or stopped using it. This time I began my quit with patches and then swithed to Chantix---it has made a world of difference for me. I do not know where you live or if it is available....but that might be something to check into.... Ex-slave, You're right, it isn't a topic discussed often on the SSC. Thank you for bringing it forward. You will help many in the same struggle. Some members experience a small adjustment period after they take their last step down. This is temporary and it will pass. Get back to basics: use the same strategies that got you through hell week to get you through this rough patch and don't forget to keep up with rewards. NMC, If you feel you still need it, then keep it around for a little while longer. When you're ready, start trying to delay using it by using other coping strategies instead. Be patient with yourself and keep taking it one step at a time. Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Ex-slave, This is temporary and it will pass. I agree with penguin, it is time for a reward. You've been working very hard, time to be kind to yourself. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team
