I know a lot of you have seen this either here or other places but I thought I would post this for those of you that may need a little reminder of why we are all here: 20 minutes Blood pressure and pulse rate return to normal. 8 hours Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in the blood are cut in half. Oxygen levels in the blood return to normal. 24 hours Carbon monoxide is completely eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out the mucus and other debris of smoking. 48 hours Nicotine is completely eliminated from the body. Your sense of taste and smell greatly improve. 72 hours Breathing becomes easier. Energy levels increase. Bronchial tubes relax. I think it is kinda' cool I will be through the 72 hour mark at the end of the day and to see already the bebefits of quitting. Day 2 was good, the wall I hit the day before wasn't there, at least last evening, and was more of a slight bump in the road, got through it, no big deal and made it through the rest of the evening...get through today, then back to work. The weekend had me concerned and I am feeling better about it now...Pat/Rainie and Faith - I posted more in the other thread. Well done MrM, The first weekend is almost over and you've kicked a lot of ash! Check out how much time you've added to your life in just 2 days...that's mind blowing to me. Reward for the 72 hour mark??? Thanks for the nice reminder of how quickly our bodies recover. Pat just quit trying :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0
