Cheermom: It's so good to hear from you again after a long absence from here. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this, but you do sound very upbeat and confident and that will make all the difference in your recovery. Thanks for touching base -- please stay as close as possible and let us know how you're doing. Keep the faith, Kim! Wow. I don't know of a worthy response. I actualy did know, somewhat, about your struggle (and please be advised you are included in all of my prayers) :) And I am impressed with 42 days. I have seen you here since I joined SSC in May 2006. I, too, have struggled with this horrid addiction. I quit after a diagnosis with COPD. I have never had to use O-2 and while I have an inhaler, I have never used it either. Now, on Friday, I go for a biopsy on a lesion in my mouth. I knew it was there for several months, but never did anything about it. I WAS a smoker---but I NEVER dipped or chewed, and that's where mouth cancer comes from doesn't it? wrong. Good luck, Kim. I think of you more than you know of. Keep the quit! HI all my old friends and I see a lot of new people here! woohoo. Some posts sad, some happy. Glad the celebration of milestones are still happening. I made it 42 days (geesh seems so low compared to what I had on December 31 of 216. Hmmm Some of you oldies know I am fighting IDC (breast cancer) and was given a choice to either continue to smoke and loose the battle (after I lit that one up when I found out the news) or quit and have a chance at fighting this. I didn't even THINK about smoking when I found out 6 days ago I now have Graves Disease. Yep. talk about a crummy life. But wait, I quit and I have a fighting chance. And honestly, other than the blood work, I FEEL FINE (and tired lol). But some of the people here kept contact, esepcially Lady, and have kept my attitude wonderful. Maybe it took some drastic health issues to get me to quit and not one falter since. Maybe I finally realized I have had enough of that stinky smelling everything every day. I chose life. Do you? Hugs Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,073 Amount Saved: $178.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 48 Seconds: 57
