New to Meds-Please help!

21 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi, I'm new to this group, but there seems to be some great advise. I had a physical the other day and my doctor gave me rxs for zoloft and paxil. I'm 23 and suffer from fairly mild anxiety and depression. I was in therapy for a while last year but it didn't really help. I've always been a worrier, but I've never had a full blown panic attack. Do you think it's a good idea to get started on one of these meds? I'm obviously nervous about becoming dependent, weight gain, and any other adverse side effects. Even though I'm thin now I know if i gain weight i'll stop the meds. I also would like to be able to drink some alcohol. Any advise between the paxil and zoloft? or trying anything else? Thanks for your help!
