reflections on approaching the beach

Congratulations on hitting the beach Lynne. You are a shining example for all of us newbies! Thanks for sharing and inspiring so many. It's not so hard to make the decision to quit with the right mindset and the "clicking in the brain". See you all on the beach in 100 days! hi folks, I will be at the beach in 4 days, and i stopped to think about my quit this morning. It all started when the doctor asked me if i was still smoking and i told him i was. before i knew it i had a prescription for patches and was agreeing to try and quit. i used the patches for about 3 weeks, then went completely nic free. i have had very few craves really. more like a passing thought that i just push away. anyway, having said that i hadn't really planned to stop. my quit means a great deal to me now, and i am really looking forward to the beach to get to some warm weather hope this helps the newbies see that it can be done if you change your mindset from i want to stop , to i stopped. love to all lynnexx My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 96 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,442 Amount Saved: 384 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 19 Mins: 36 Seconds: 8

Woo Hoo....the beach...is that where you go on day 100? Congrats...100 days...wow...just stop and think about that for a minute....that is HUGE! I agree with you Penguin. For me when my mind starts talking I gotta get going...I really think it is what makes or breaks most. I think I will become a "Mind Mute"! Hi Lynne I'll be the first to congratulate you for making it to the beach (I know you'll make it). I know what you mean about having very few craves, just like passing thoughts that you just brush away. That is what I experience too. It's amazing how when you decided not to have the conversations in you head, then they don't happen. You have done so well, and you so deserve some relaxation when you put your feet on the sand.
