Day 7 Anxiety ++++

Penguin, Hang in there! Be strong and push through this bothersome day! I'm here for you! Will Thanksgiving be too busy for you to think about smoking? I hope so! I'm pulling for you Penguin! Junkie thinking/thoughts are only slowing you down. Tell 'em to take a hike and leave you be! Well of course you feel awful - You are on day 7 and have spent an entire week in a state of constant anxiety. Today it came to a head. I believe it was day 9 for me......... but those days are over. In fact, in some ways, my anxiety decreases. I can wait for extended periods of time in the hospital, super market, mall or work late without worrying about when I am going to get my next fix. As smokers, we were in a constant state of withdrawal. We were anxious every single day. Of course we're going to feel like h*** when we kick this habit....but just think how great it will to be free of this addiction! When you hit a day like this, it feels like you can't bear to go through another day like it again. Well, maybe you won't. This trick is not to worry about tomorrow. Finish today (reward yourself for you 7 days - It's for what you've done ... not what you are trying not to do). Get some sleep and start tomorrow when tomorrow comes. As Marie used to say.......one day at a time. Geesh Penquin - Now I'm trying to remember the name of that show - Was it "Let's Make a Deal". By the way, what WAS behind Door # 2? Glad you are feeling better today. Penguin, This is normal. Keep your mind of smoking with a good distraction and start fresh tommorrow. Don't forget to get your reward, you deserve it for one smoke free week. Junkie thoughts present or not. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
