Rusty...great post! I was there not too long ago. I always was mad at my husband because I felt he could smoke and I couldn't. Weird thing is, I wasn't mad at my parents when they smoked, or my neighbors, or my other family members.I felt left out etc. funny thing is, now I'm fine to sit outside with him (well most of the time) while he smokes. He is the one missing out on family time to run outside and smoke. He is the one giving up his time to be with his "best friend" the cig. I am living life and finally starting to feel like a non smoker Hugs Kim My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 155 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,897 Amount Saved: $627.75 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 17 Mins: 43 Seconds: 11

People often say that they are angry that they can't smoke. I even remember the exact day that I realized that I wasn't mad at my husband...I was mad that "he could smoke and I couldn't." Well, guess what? I CAN SMOKE IF I WANT TO. No one is holding a gun to my head, no one is doing anything to me to make me quit. So if it's my choice, there's nothing to be angry about, is there? I think once I made that switch in thinking, it made my quit a whole lot easier. Hey Rusty, Bravo, Bravo, I have to admit that when I first started my quit, I did hate my wife somewhat, for having the priveledge of smoking anytime She wanted, But then after say 2 months, the pendiulium swung the other way, For I did not want to change places with Her, for I had seen the light, Thank You Friend for helping a lot of People on this website see the light, For I will never forget the One's Who went before me, love to You, Smokless in Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1341 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 40,241 Amount Saved: $5739.48 Life Gained: Days: 317 Hrs: 1 Mins: 21 Seconds: 54

Spot on Rusty! The sooner people retrain their conscious and subconscious thinking, the sooner this "quit thingy" starts to resemble a cakewalk. Penitent d906
