I know exactly what you're thinking. I did the same thing.. and when I was outside having my smoke and someone would walk by... I would duck for cover not to offend thme with my nasty smoke. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!!!! It is another "good thing" that we don't have to avoid people because of our habit. Keep on keeping on!!!! Marcy

I know the feeling, I used to do the same thing. The last couple of days I find myself wondering where all the time came from. I feel like I have about 3-4 extra hours in the day! Did I waste that much time smoking, it sure feels like it. Now I need to find other things to do with that time! POSITIVE things. I have started to read more, and find myself talking more to my children. My 9 year old son and I have a thing going on, each day he comes up to me and says Day 7 (or whatever day it is) and I say DAY 7 AND I AM A NON-SMOKER. He is loving the fact that I quit. His support along with the rest of the family really help. Congrats on your quit, keep up the good work! this seems pretty silly, but today i was in blockbuster looking for a movie. as i was walking aroung looking at the movies i saw a lady that i was going to cross paths with. as we passed each other i kept my distance as much as the aisle would allow. i then thought to myself, what am i doing?? i dont stink anymore. its been a habit of mine to avoid getting near people so they dont smell me. its silly but i thought i would share. :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/19/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 273 Amount Saved: $64 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 29 Seconds: 36

Angelcapp - For some reason, hearing about your little ritual with your son (counting days) really really touched me. How beautiful & moving. Talk about the ultimate "reward" for quitting! And yes, I've also found all of this new time! It's amazing how much time we wasted smoking, going to buy smokes, looking for matches/lighters, washing our hands after smoking, etc. We now have so much new found time. Yet another reward! Janie - I can totally relate to your people-avoidence thing. I used to be so self-conscious on the elevator in my apartment building every morning...I know I reeked and it is such a small space. I was ashamed to smell like cigarettes, especially before 8 a.m.!!! Anyway, I now proudly ride that elevator! Hi Janie, It doesn't sound strange at all. It's so interesting what we did before when we were so lost in this terrible addiction. The time and energy this addiction demanded of us leaves us facing a brand-new world today. How amazing is this... what a blessing of an opportunity to begin again :) You are doing beautifully! Congratulations. Oh, and you don't have to avoid people anymore, my friend :) Enjoy your new journey!
