Okay I have two questions. What is a bump? After being here for three weeks I still haven't figured that out. Also why do some discussions get locked. JT, I can help with one: a BUMP moves a thread to the top of a topic (I think, I've never used it). But it makes the thread available to a larger number of readers. As to why some discussions get "locked," that sounds like the inscrutable, known only to the Moderators. Hi JT, A bump is when you read a post asking for information and you know of a post that will help them you find that post, click on reply to this discussion. Then when it come up just type bump, or this is for who ever you want it to be for. That will bring the message back to the main forum. Now, if a post get locked maybe it is because it has gotten too long and hard to get to. And then if the post is so contravisory the mods will lock it.... I hope this helps. I have a question, also. How come no one uses the SSC Instant Messenger??? I just happen to launch it one day and had a really nice chat with another person there. I think that is the only time I have seen anyone in there. I found that post are great, but instant messengering with someone once in awhile helps alot also. laura, Thank you. The SSC IM Messenger is there for added support and can be used by all members. We have to take into consideration the delay in time as some of our members are in the UK, Europe and many other countries. Jt, Take a look at the user agreement for more information on the sites rules and regulations. We lock threads as some may be too long to wade through. We also lock threads to discontinue any negative feedback that is surfacing. If the thread in not appropriate then we will delete it as well.
