Anne: You can't possibly be an "oldie" -- you sound too much like me! I'm also a 35-year smoker and grandmother to a beautiful 2-year old granddaughter. And I know that I'M not old, so I declare the same for you!
My husband is unfortunately still smoking, (and in the house). The smell is driving me mad (I honestly never knew how bad it smelled).
What I found helped me the most (and I'm coming up on 4 months quit here pretty soon) is stepping back and really LOOKING at the addiction and watching my husband smoke. He's not happy, he hates himself as a smoker. I never say anything to him, but I notice in the last few days he's making comments about getting ready to quit. Hurray!
Just stay firm in your commitment to yourself to quit -- you're doing a fantastic job. Enjoy that gorgeous baby girl of yours and I like the suggestion of taking her out to the park a lot -- something you'll both like.
Welcome to our family of quitters -- young and old (you and me? We're young!)
Keep the faith -- and your wonderful quit
