I am on the nicoderm patch...14 mg. Today is day 2 for me. I have tried everything in the past. Hynosis, nicorette gum, welbutrin, mind games...etc., It seems as though the patch works best for me. I'm curious about what happens when you come off of Chantix. This is the first time that I've heard about this drug. Does anyone have a story they can relay?
Linda

Yes cc, that's my question too re Chantix..
Any side effects? I have a very sensitive system to most drugs and would really appreciate if someone could tell us how they feel emotionally and physically on this drug.
thanks.. Monica58

Thanks, Kelly. I'm actually doing ok without it but there are so many people on here having success with it that I thought maybe I could help some of those I "left behind" in the NicoDemon's prison.
Thanks, again,
QM

Does Chantix help squelch the "nicotiene high" of cigarettes? If so it sounds sort of like the smoking vaccine.
At first when I heard people talking about Chantix I thought it was a drug like zyban or welbutrin (sp?).

Today is day 13 on Chantix for me. The first few days I had an ever-so-slight upset tummy that went away. Again when the dose increased six days ago, also has gone away (always take after a meal, like the directions say). Had a bit of a 'spacey' feeling day 8 and 9, but this was my first 2 days nicotine free in 34 years...
No patches, simply Chantix for the last six days and I feel...NORMAL! Still experience a desire or crave, but nothing compared to before.
Chantix instructions are for smokers. They advise to smoke the first 7 days and quit on day 8. I used low dose patches the first week since I had already quit.
Don't know about the availability in Canada, but I believe when I was gathering info on it was. Perhaps I am wrong. Yes, always consult with your Dr. There are some conditions that you should not take the medication. They have a website...

Couldn't agree with Kelly or Joy more. I think Trailbum quit with Chantix as well. Those demonic craves are behind me.....

Weaned off patches and onto Chantix. Been without nicotine for the first 2 days of my life in 34 years! Can't say enough good about it! Congratulations on such a successful quit!
