Dear Melanie, I am new too the site. I have read your letters, and your advice is very good. My question is: is it safe to take two SSRI's at the same time?? I am On 12.5 paxil, weaned from 25, from 40 regular paxil, and my nurse said to take 10 milligrams of Lexapro. These would taken at the SAME time for about a month or so. I have heard of Serotonin Syndrome and it scares me. I would be taking 12.5 Paxil and 10 lexapro. Have you ever heard of a person taking these at the same time, and are there bad effects from it. Medication sort of frightens me anyway. I take a low-dose Klonopin as needed. If anyone has taken two different SSRI's at the same time please write and let me know. Thank You!

It is important to understand what you are feeling and what the outcome may be. In this case you do understand your feelings and you need answers. If your friends and family are not supportive then you may have to tell them that you are hurt and you need them during this time in your life. Being open and honest will let others feel and see what you may be going through. We thank you for being open and honest in this support group and we hope that you will find some answers to your questions on our site. With regards to medication, I would recommend you to see your doctor. You really want to make sure that you are taking the proper medication and the proper dosage. Your health is always number one and you understand this. Having a loved one move away is tough. Always remember the positive aspects of your relationship and remember; "distance makes the heart grow fonder". We will be thinking of you and hope that you will find positive support. Our support will always be here for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Thanks again for posting with us! Take care, Melanie

MY boyfriend just left to move to another state. We just stood there crying. We both love each other , but he had to go because of his job. Of course I can't go with him because of my "condition" (anxiety, panic, agoraphobia) I don't know when or if I'll see him again! I can't stop crying.. I'm so sad. My Dad isn't being very supportive and my friends are just like "get over it". I live alone and I used to be afraid of having a boyfriend because of my "condition" I was afraid to let anyone know about it. But, I became so close with him, now I'm scared that my anxiety and panic attacks will come on strong.. I wanted to start a medication in the past week or so, I was going to start Effexor XR this morning. I just don't know if today is the wrong time to try, since I'm such a mess... HELP I'm hurting.. And I'm so alone..
