Hi Nikole, I empathise with you as I just had a sleepless night after my mother gave me a piece of her mind about me not coming to visit her. I sometimes wonder whether having an easily angered family complicates the recovery from agoraphobia.

Howdy Barbara! I don't have agoraphobia but I've read a bit of stuff on it. I read about one person had a dog bought for them and that made them want to take the dog for a walk. Maybe that can work for u. I've also read about someone who was basically dragged out by a friend kicking and screaming. It was obviously a bit uncomfortable but it at least made that persons brain recognise that they have left the house and that is something you can build on. And of course there is the more common was through gradual exposure. Hope these help. CYA

Hi I am new to this site. I just registered about three days ago. I have been suffering from Panic/Anxiety and Agoraphobia for about 2 1/2 months going on three. At first I was real sick. I got depressed and felt sick all the time. For the past month I have been feeling better. I know it's all about a state of mind that I feel this way. At first I was really afraid about how I felt. I thought I was having heart problems or some serious illness. I still have days where I feel sick but I feel like I am getting through it as the days go by. I try not to think about it so much because before, I noticed that was why I always felt so sick......I "THOUGHT" about it TOO much! What I really need help with now is with trying to get out of my house!! I get so scared!! My friends and family have tried to get me out. I just get really nervous and panicy everytime I start thinking about getting out. I am tired of being stuck here at home. I feel like life is passing me by and I am missing out on everything. I used to be a happy, outgoing person. I don't know why I can't get out there or passed this panic. If someone out there can help me out or give me some advice on how to deal with my agoraphobia I would really appreciate it. Thanks.....Barbara03
