Determined Take some gum and hard candies and don't get drunk. That's my advice to you Determined. Stay away from people who are smoking if you can. It's going to be tough but you will succeed if you are ready for it and promise to come back on here and post your accomplishment when you succeed in protecting the fine quit you've started. Stay strong and do what you can to stay successful, QM My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 95 Amount Saved: $16 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 17 Mins: 7 Seconds: 11

I'm in! What a ride so far! Today I had my first ever panic attack. I have never understood what people meant by panic attack. I do now. The really funny part is that I work in psych. You'd think I'd know. I'm 52 years old, and believe me, I've been through some horrible stuff, and NEVER had a panic attack. But I walked into a gas station/food mart type place to pay for a car wash (where I sometimes bought smokes) and I started shaking uncontrollably. And I started PANTING. I couldn't breathe. I mean, whoa, where did that come from? I KNOW this was anxiety, but geeze louise! I had to sit in the car for 10 minutes to catch my breath. Yikes! I think I'll crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head. Except I can't sleep, either... Oh well, I can breathe better already and my feet are not icy cold, either. Let all of us 'Tober Smobers band together and enjoy the ride! Parrotlady, Yikes! I hope you're feeling better. Remember you are the one who is in control of this addiction! How about a great reward instead of a pack of cigarettes? Pick out your favorite munchy next time. Give yourself a better alternative you'll enjoy. Wow Cuddles! Thank you for putting that list together! Very thoughtful of you! So October quitters which name will it be? Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team
