Need Advice on SSRI's

21 years ago 0 22 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello all, I am new to this group and have been dx with anxiety and full blown panic attacks for about 5 months now. I was started on Xanax, and knowing that it is a benzo and that it doesnt help the lack of seritonin, my doc wanted to try SSRI's/ I started with Zoloft, then went to Celexa and couldnt take either one on only HALF of the lowest doses. I was dizzy, nauseas etc and stopped them. Then we tried Prozac. I started on the 10mg pill and went for 14 days with no really bad side effects, still taking the Xanax with it throughout the day as I normally do. Then last week out of the blue, I started getting the chest pain all over again and aniety/panic that I couldnt control. I called the doc, he placed me on 20 mgs of the Prozac and I felt WORSE. He then put me back down to 10 mgs a day, and I still feel ****y, and cant really get out of my own way with the anxiety. I feel it is worse on the prozac than it was just on the Xanax. From what I have read, this may be the "starter side effects" of an SSRI- will it go away or does this mean that SSRI's just are not good for me? I would really appriciate ANY help with this. Thank you all! Beth :confuse:
