YES! YES! YES! I am with you guys on this one. My muscles feel like they need to be stretched constantly! No matter where I am or what I'm doing you will see me stretching some body part. My hamstrings are the worst. They always feel tight. People think I'm so wonderfully healthy because they see me stretching and more than I few people have assumed that I'm an athlete of some kind. I smile and nod when people make some comment about how "nice it is to see someone care for their body". If only they knew the real reason!!

I also suffer from neck and shoulder tension. No headaches or temple or jaw pain too much any more. To get rid of the jaw thing, I started chewing gum. Instead of clenching my teeth, I chewed away. Believe it or not, that helped a lot with the anxiety as well. I think it has something to do with the noise of chewing inside of your mouth kind of distracts your brain from thinking of anxious thoughts. However, that is my opinion. I used to hate chewing gum, but, such is life. Also, try a Shiatzu style massage. That will get rid of the neck and shoulder pain for a while. Might get rid of the headaches too. Finally, practice good posture all of the time and try a different mattress, like select comfort or a different pillow. And finally, something else that works for me is I'll take a deck of cards and start shuffling, and practice dealing black jack or any game. That helps to take my mind off anxiety, which miraculously makes my back and neck not sore any more. Good luck, nothing I do is proven but they have worked for me one time or another in my battle against anxiety.

I do! I was just noticing today as I felt anxious about some storm warning sirens going off that my neck, shoulders, jaw, temples and back get really tight. I also clench my teeth. I'm actually going to a tmj specialist tomorrow to see if he can alleviate some of the toll I take on my jaw. Sometimes I find stretching during anxiety episodes helpful. (Knock on wood, I haven't had an attack since my first bout with them). I also see my chiropractor once a month.

Does anyone else suffer from muscle tension? My shoulders and neck are constantly sore and stiff due to tension. I also suffer badly from tension headaches. I was just wondering how other people deal with this and if anyone has any tips on getting rid of it. Any advise would be helpful. Thank you
