Bad day

18 years ago 0 2838 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Girl, you know i've been there! IT'S ALL IN THE MIND!!! Think positive, think as a non-smoker and DO NOT light it up. If you feel yourself heading that way, go back to the 14mg. After my slip I put the 7 back on and it just didn't cut it, so I am back on 14. I ordered 10 and 5mg off of the internet (not sold in US)and hope they come in soon (Nicotrol) I figure a gentle taper (14, 10, 7, 5) might do the trick. HOWEVER...that's just me justifying my slip by blaming the drop in the patch. In the back of my mind I KNOW it was me in a weak moment making a bad decision. Hubby is afraid the patch is my security blanket. He has noticed that whenever I get upset I rub it. I'm having a hard time with the "one day at a time" and have to banish the reoccurring thought that I am never going to smoke again and I am never going to be happy again because "something" is missing. Come on, we can do this! I know we can!! Positive thoughts, deep breaths, ... Hey, let's go for a walk! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 521 Amount Saved: $80 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 1 Mins: 45 Seconds: 19

Marie First you are doing great! Look at you you haven't smoked and you have been doing what you set out to do, quit smoking. Second you have been doing with such style and grace. You have added your spirit and your charm here on this site pretty much every day since June 13th. You have quit for 81 days and you have not smoked more than 1200 cigarettes. Congratulations. Please take it easy on yourself and acknowledge what you have done and what you are doing. All days are not the same and some are better than others, trust me I know that small few. Glad to see you taking a bubble bath and resting and taking care of yourself. I am glad to listen any time. I hope you are all fresh and bright today and if not, there is always tomorrow or even this afternoon. The light at the end of the tunnel is always there. Stay Strong. Big hugs to you ((((((((marie)))))))) Phillip :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 197 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,948 Amount Saved: $1477.5 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 4 Mins: 3 Seconds: 6

Hi Marie. Hang in there. Some days are just not good. Keep your chin up and keep taking one step at a time. You are approaching 100 days! How Awesome! Being patient and relaxed are things I still have trouble with. Take some deep breaths. I hope you sleep well and awake feeling refreshed, ready to face a new day. i came down through the patches as you are doing. I started with the 21mg was on it for 8 weeks, I did the 14mg for 7 weeks. I went to the 7mg after all that. Do you need to bump back up to the 14 for another week or two? Do what you need to quit. I assure you you can wean from the patches without smoking again. Hang tough.
