Hi, Melisa. Being responsible for a new human being is quite the challenge. Sometimes we see it as overwhelming, and other times we welcome it so much. Whatever your thoughts on it, motherhood creates a big change in your life.
Now if you read your post, you say you lie in bed thinking of your fears. That's the pattern you have to change and to challenge. The Panic program will help you with that. What did you name your baby?
Hi Melisa,
I also started having panic attacks after my second child. She was about 4 months old when they first reared their ugly head! She is nearly 3 years old now and I am still experiencing them. I have good days and bad. The doctors say it was post natal depression.
I also obsess about my health. I worry that this is not anxiety/panic but some deadly disease that the doctors cannot see. I am now seeing a clinical pyschologist (only had 1 appt so far), but am hopeful he will help me beat this. If I get any tips I will let you know.
This site has helped me though. Have you signed up to the program?
If I can help you any further, please let me know.
Take care
Ann
Well guys...I jsut got off the phone with our local nurses hotline. I was sure I was having a stroke, and need reassurance that I was just a FREAK! Not really, but I'm so tired of feeling this way. Night time seems to be the worst for me..when I go to bed I lay and think about all my (nonexistant) medical problems. I just had my second child a month ago, so I may be experiencing some postpartum depression, but most of it is just my normal anxiety. I'm only 27, I should be carefree. Why do I have this health obsession, when I know better?
