Hi DJ,
If you look up Wellbutrin on any of the drug info web sites, you will see that it is sometimes prescribed for anxiety. I tried it for one month and it didn't help or hurt the anxiety as long as I kept it to a low dose. It did upset my stomach, though. The thing is, everyone is different, and what helps one person may not be helpful for another, so your best bet is to ask your doctor very specific questions and if he/she does not want to take the time to discuss it or does not answer to your satisfaction, consider finding another doctor who will. Good luck to you. Keep the faith. I really believe we can overcome this.

Dear deejaroo:
I've heard that Wellbutrin is prescribed to patients for the side-effects (especially sexual) produced by SSRIs not for anxiety. Or your doctor is trying you on Wellbutrin to see if it helps with Panic Disorder, since it is an anti-depressant. Some people with panic disorders are treated with anti-depressants that are not SSRI, such as MAOs, tryciclics, many others. Hope this helps.
My doctor just gave me a prescription for Wellbutrin for my panic disorder, but in their literature on line, it doesn't mention anything about panic disorder. It mentions depression, but doesn't say it's used to treat anxiety. Does anyone know anything about this? Let me know.
Thank you for your help and God Bless.
