What Do You Wnat to Do With The Money You're Saving?

17 years ago 0 140 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I've already done it! The 1st thing I bought was a gas BBQ - since I was going to buy one whether I smoked or not, I considered it free! Then I bought a new pair of running shoes. Then I bought some new clothes. And then I realized I've spent way more than I've saved so far, so I've had to put the brakes on for a while! sushik My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 64 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,611 Amount Saved: $576 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 6 Mins: 32 Seconds: 20

I will save around $280 a month. I used to procrastinate about how i never had enough money to do anything .. ... .... all going up in smoke!! I have not eaten as healthy as i have in a long time, exersized or just really pampered myself. They are reward enough for me - and free!! The bigger ones well........ see my family for christmas for the first time in 4 years and a couple of other big trips planned. For the time being tho im concentrating on the little rewards that are needed right now like the dvd, movie smaller things like that. :) PrincessC x My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 553 Amount Saved: $244.8 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 22 Mins: 27 Seconds: 54

Good thread BG I am probably living life a lot more, as i have more money. End of August I am off to N.Cyprus. That has always been my reward for not smoking. Quality of life and 4.5 hours on a plane and to not think about smoking is amazing. Only thing I havent told my boyfriend yet is that - not smoking means less time in the bar and more time in the shops.. shopping, lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,303 Amount Saved: 390 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 14 Mins: 19 Seconds: 22

bgaineshunter, I fell behind on the mortgage last month. Not smoking or drinking saves me about 140 a week. The mortgage will be caught up around 8/15/06. After that I want to buy a door a week, with new shiny brass hardware. Eventually, retile my shower. Redo all the walls in that bathroom. Build a fence. Put up a deck. Someone once said, "If you're going to dream, dream big :p" The above are obviously all milestone rewards, so in the meantime, I'll be doing girly things like having my nails done, renting a movie now and then, etc. Good thread. It's always good to reward oneself for efforts in life style changes, with a habit that is so hard to break. I have it in a fire proof box.....I get it out and count it and go on "mind" buying sprees! LOL You wouldn't believe all the things I have bought with money saved from quitting.....and once in a while I "really" buy something! LOL just be sure when you spend it that you associate it with a "reward" for NOT having smoked!
