73 hours

I made it past the 72 hour mark!!! Someone told me that was a milestone and things are easier after that. So far I'm experiencing dizzy spells, coughing, dry throat, mild headache and just being in a fog. I know this is normal and temporary but for how long will this last? Think I'll take a couple of Tylenol and a cough drop and go back to bed. STILL NOT SMOKING and I feel good about that, just wish I didn't feel like I'd smoked something else, haven't done that in years!! Sorry I was whining, I hate that!!! I'm using the patch so I'm not nicotine free although I have cut it to less than half of what I was getting when I was smoking. Doctor said patch equals about 15 cigs, I was smoking 40-45 a day. The headache has eased off, nerves are alittle frayed but I'll do. Thanks for the encouragement My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 154 Amount Saved: $33 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 57 Seconds: 44

Auntie, Every quit is different but you can expect them to last for the first few weeks after quitting. If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Keep persevering, Danielle ______________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Auntie, Time tables dont work with quitting, so we cant really tell you when the withdrawal symptoms will get better. At 3 weeks I felt pretty much normal and could already see tremendous health benefits. By the time you have a week of freedom, youll probably notice that the fog is lifting a bit. I hated that feeling, but one of our members (Bogman) said he wished he could bottle it LOL. It will definitely take awhile for your body to figure out whats going on, but the beginning quit problems are well worth the great outcome. Hurray for you for a great 3 day quit! Not cravin', never cavin'.
