Today is my 23rd day without cigarettes. I smoked for 29 years and I never dreamed I would or could quit. I was in the hospital 3 wks. ago for 6 days with Pneumonia and I just couldn't breath. Just trying to stay on course and be successful with this. I do feel alot better so far. I lost my post and just know found it. Thanks everyone for all the encouraging words. Today is 4 weeks and if you count a month as 30 days, then here's to Monday. I am really excited about this. I bought me a silver bracelet and had my quit date engraved on it. that is a constant reminder to me how much MORE money I am going to have to spend. Oh yeah, and being healthier and smell better... I really love this site and appreciate everyone's support.

Gold star for you Simcoxt! Unfortunatley, sometimes it takes something scary to happen for us to "wake up" and realize just how harmful the cigs are, and to realize just how much life is out there to explore and enjoy. I'm glad that you are feeling better, and I hope you continue on this great journey to become a new you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 264 Amount Saved: $68 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 9 Seconds: 47

Hi Sim...I read your idea about the bracelet in another thread. What a great way to keep yourself on track...thinking I might do something like that myself. Congrats on all of your hard work! Congrats on 23 days! Those 6 days in the hospital will be a good thing to put on the top of your list of reasons why you NEVER want to smoke again! Keep up the good work!
