Hey Carpenter - Hold tight...It sounds like the 30 somethings are a tought time for alot of people.
I suppose it's like losing weight. Part of us would like to believe that by quitting smoking we will make all of the problems go away. Unfortunately, despite our pride in our strength, there are still job stressors, illnesses, relationship problems and a whole lot of awful stuff that life throws our way.
But I think you said it...same old stuff (Those things that are getting you down were bad even when you smoked - We fooled ourselves into believing that smoking made it better)
I'm not sure how long you have been smoking, but, honestly, sometimes I feel like I am a 15 year old learning how to live all over again. And what did we reach for every time things got bad..........our smokes.
It's easy for me say right now, because on this particular day I am doing okay, but we were miserable when we smoked. In addition to all the other stuff that I had to deal with, I had to work my life around my addiction. Sometimes, the stress became worse because I couldn't feed my addiction.
Soooooooo...please Carpenter...hold tight.....and promise you'll be there to give me the same spiel when my turn comes.
Sending as much strength as I can muster and tons of support from Cold Canada!
Windy
