Panic disorder and school

Hi Cassie, I am in Highschool too, and notice that it can be a place that induces panic attacks mostly because of the high stress level. It helps to tell your teachers, even though you think they will treat you differently - any teacher worth their salt wil not do that. They actually care about their students, and want to help as much as they can. It's also good to let a really close friend of yours know whats happening. I know its scary walking through the door every morning, in fact my first 4 or 5 panic attacks happened at school and I have been through the same thing. The truth is even though its hard to understand in the moment, anyone who looks down on you because of the panic attacks is not worth the awesome person you are. Please feel free to email me; I have been looking all over the internet for someone my age to talk with about stuff like this! I think that together we can become stronger! duct_tape_queen@hotmail.com ~Roses

Hi, Cassie. Others have written about this in the forums. Do your parents and teachers know? If not, you might begin by printing out the information on the site for them. Have you seen a teen psychologist about it?

I am in high school and I have been having panic attacks in school for about two years now. I have been very afraid to go to school because I don't want to have another panic attack. I feel like I can't control myself any more. Does anybody have some advice??? :quest:
