When Do You Go From Being an Ex-Smoker to a Nonsmoker

18 years ago 0 457 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I am a Non-smoker that has gone through the adiction and quit process. I'm not ashamed of my smoking history and will tell any doctor - because I beat it. I have quit, and I am a non smoker. I am an ex-slave to cigarettes and have become a non-smoker. My dr will always know I smoked as soon as he listens to my lungs :8o: This being said aren't we all a fabulous bunch of quitters I ask you? :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 95 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,437 Amount Saved: $380 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 15 Mins: 16 Seconds: 17

As far as I'm concerned I'm an ex and I'm a non smoker. It's just playing with words, as long as we don't smoke we're just wonderful human beings who don't smoke. Don't mind me I went down on the patch today . :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,136 Amount Saved: $300 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 23 Mins: 44 Seconds: 7

I think the sooner we start thinking of ourselves as Non-Smokers, the sooner we will become one. It took me about 3 weeks. I read everything I could get my hands on in those three weeks and was very active in adding new things to my life and doing things differently. Interesting question BG, At 6 months quit, I am confident that I will not smoke again, but I still feel more like an 'ex' than a 'non'. Perhaps those on a year's quit+ can help here? Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 195 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,871 Amount Saved: 1462.5 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 15 Mins: 8 Seconds: 9

Provoking Question! My opinion for what it is worth: I am an ex-smoker. I went to a lot of trouble to become an ex-smoker. The section of the resturant that I sit in is the NON-Smoking section. Not the Non-smoker section. Even smokers can sit there as long as they don't light up.
