Hi I found this a bit older thread and found i got answer to my questions. have 3 big ulcers in my mouth together with bleeding gum--i am still craving badly and is using nicorette shewing gum.. what shall i do?? continue the gum or?/ i am really scared of falling in to the smoking again.. My mouth is so sore!! hey Chicken, Looks like you got your answer but it's nice to know that a large number of people share your symptom- so yes the last time I quit I got mouth ulcers really badly starting a few weeks after I quit that hung out there for a few weeks and then healed. Thanks Meg. Lysine does help...its a vitamin or something. My mother told me to take them. They help them clear up but there seems to be more right around the corner! I'll live! I was just hoping for some instant relief....Does that mouthwash offer instant releif??? Okay the only new thing I did was quit smoking and now I get these mouth ulcers. I have been living on Lysine. Is this something anyone else has experinced?? They hurt horribly and maybe it's something I am supposed to get and smoking helped prevent them...not that I would smoke again to stop them just maybe didnt realized they were supposed to be there! Chicken, do a search on this site for "mouth sores" or "mouth ulcers". It is very common and happened to me as well. Your dentist or doctor can order a potion to be made up at the pharmacy called Magic Mouthwash or Miracle Mouthwash. Google it to get more info. Hi CS my daughter had this symptom along with bleeding gums. it persisted for quit some time....she finally asked the doctor during a visit about it and he prescribed a round of low dose antibiotics for her....it cleared up and never bothered her again.
