Hi shajad,
i just say to myself or whenever i'm in a conversation that I don't smoke. i feel more confident when i say that.. it's like a motivation for the mind to reject the smoking idea and to reduce the cravings.
I am on the same page with you. I tell myself the same thing and agree with you. It does make you feel more confident.
i like the challenge. truly its shear pleasure for me to resist that urge of smoking.. I'm having fun with it...
LOL! I like the way you think and am feeling that pleasure as well. I too am having fun with it ... looking at it like a contest. I smile because I know I am not going to lose. I don't know about the keeping the 4 cigarettes, but if it is working for you ... who can argue with that. Personally I have gotten to the point I hate them. I see em and all I think is lies, lies, lies, lies ..... Congrats on your quit ... you are doing great!
the days are massively longer and time stands still.
Your days will seem longer because you were spending 2 or more hours smoking and now you are not. Now you have added time ... added to do other things you always thought of doing, but didn't. What wonderful new things are you going to add to your life? Have you given it any thought?
i have also been feeling sick and very very tired like i dont have any enegy at all.
This will pass. It is part of your withdrawal. Hang in there. Be gentle and patient with yourself. All of what you are feeling will pass. Do not forget to reward yourself for deciding to quit and for each milestone you set for yourself. Congrats on your decision to quit & making through your 1st day. Put your seatbelt on and get ready for one hell of a roller coaster ride. The next couple of weeks may be tough for you because of the physical withdrawals and the mental cravings that lie to you and make you want to give in to your addiction for a quick junkie fix. But you can get through it. Use the Quit Program Tools to the left of your screen. Read all the threads you can. Knowledge is power. Believe in yourself. Commit to your quit. Post, post, post ... we will support you 100%. I agree with Nascarfan ... throw away those smokes ... start thinking like a non-smoker ... non-smokers do not have smokes. Whenever I was suffering physical withdrawals I could not even be around smokes ... no reason in any added pressure. I mean I was working hard on trying to change my thinking. Cigarettes/tobacco is the liar of liars ... and sneaky about it too. Even now I do not want to be around cigarettes ... at all. I hope there will come a day when I can as I do not want to be a sh*t to people that smoke. But on the other hand whenever I quit any other addiction ... I stopped hanging out with people that used. So who knows ... this may be the same way. I just don't know yet. But one thing I do know ... is that I'm putting me and my quit first. You do the same ... do not jeopardize your quit. Shajad, Mark, and Embg!!! Hang in there my friends. We were all smokers who were able to get through this addiction... and we are not better than you or less addicted. If we can do it, so can you!!!
