Sparky that is so cool! That is just the way I look at it too. I dont focus on quitting, my focus is that i have not smoked today. It does take alot of pressure off. So simple yet so powerful. Hooray for you Sparky!!! Danielle from the support center aske me to share my thought on a positive attitude. I have found that with a positive attitude you can just about do anything. I have tried stopping so many times. I have used the patches, gum, smoke away, and zyban. I had some sucess, but managed to convice myself it was okay to have a puff or just one cig. I have read and tried to practice what I have read. The other day I read a book by Allen Carr, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. It has a lot of useful information. So I am doing this cold turkey this time and it seems a lot easier. Also, I am a recovering alcholic and have seen people come and go in recovery. I have almost 30 years of sobriety. So in order to have that much recovery, I ask myself what is that keeps you sober, but not smoke free. Answer, ask for help each day or when ever you need it. Also remember that this is an additction. Remember, all I have to do is stay smoke free for one day at a time. To think of it as the rest of my life is far to over whelming. If I keep a postive attitude, why smoke? If I feel sorry for myself then the cigs are winning. We all deserve a better life and to feel sad or mad is not a winning attitude. I want to be a winner and I want to be around winners. To smoke does not mean you are a loser. Each time we stop, we are winning. When I feel an urge or feel unconfortable, I just say go away. I don't have time for you now. I take a deep breath and move on with my day. I know I do not have much time in on my quit, but the fact I have stopped today is a mircle and I will take it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 27 Amount Saved: $6 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 36 Seconds: 24
