Dear Jamie. I was where you are 24 years ago. At the time I could find no help or information about all the craziness I was going thru. Lucky for me I found a young and informed Dr. He prescribed Ativan before bedtime. Problem solved. I know this drug can be addictive if overused. But I have never had a problem taking it at night when I need it.

Hi, JamieB - I read your post last night and tried to answer, but had forgotten my passwowrd. I will be checking on line, which I haven't done for awhile now, and you can always send me an e-mail at ronandsue@shaw.ca if that is better for you. You can read my past posts, and hope they will help. Talk again, I hope.Suzy, in Western Canada.

Hang in there Jamie, I went through a few sleepless, nervous nights when I was at my worst a few weeks ago. What really helped was I bought a couple of relaxation cd's and listened with headphones when I would get in bed. They put me to sleep everytime. It really helps to be able to "hear" somtthing else besides your own thoughts when you feel that way. Even if you just have headphones with a radio, some soothing, like classical music can help too. Mostly, remember you are not alone. Lots of us anxious people are up at night while everyone else is asleep. Bonnie

Hi Sarajo, thanks for replying. Even though I was off line and read the reply the next day It still makes me feel like there are people out there: even when I am awake at 3:00am and feel completely alone. thank you. the next night I am anxiously awake I will think of you.

Hi Jamie, With UK time being different (it's 8.17 am here, Saturday morning) I don't know if you're still there. But I agree a live chat room would be good: like you, one of my main needs is to share panic/stress feelings, and very often if I can do that, the symptoms calm down. Write back if you still online. Love, Sarajo.

I wish that this site had a chat because it seems that my most important need at a time when I can't sleep because I feel anxious about going to sleep.... I would benefit from being able to share at the moment. Does anyone know of any online support chats or support telephone numbers that I could call at times like 3:00 am when I can't sleep???
