Day 4....Can't quit everything

18 years ago 0 26 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I face a big hurdle as the weekend approaches. I've been able to not smoke during the week, by being in control, and keeping an eye on the triggers that trap me. Now I'll will face another set of triggers that are potentially harder to avoid then the weekly ones. Going out to dinner and drinking wine, to a football game, and having more free time at night to tempt me into doing "it". I'm writing these down as a reminder to myself that I know what they are heading into the weekend. So I can't really use them as an excuse later. I need to have a game plan for these triggers so when they occur I'll know what to do. After dinner: Take a walk. Football: Bring camera and concentrate on taking pictures. Night: After kids go to bed....Play poker online...Don't go near the garage. fingers crossed.... jtobin - you are a much smarter person than me. I blew my first week because I had no idea that the weekend would be such a challenge. Had to start over again on the following Monday....the next weekend I had a plan and it was so much better. Wishing a wonderful smoke-free weekend! Hi J!! Go to the bookstore and see if they have your fav paperback in hardback copies =) Make a virgin cocktail such as a virgin bloody mary, dim the light, climb into your fav chair, and read your book =) If all else fails, pop into here =) It remains open 24 / 7 and even on holidays! *grin* Congrats on your journey thus far!! jtobin, Great plan! Preparing will help you get through the weekend. However, I would suggest one more addition; rewards for staying smoke free. Remember we are only a few clicks away if you need us. Have fun! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team
