Lady & Rusty, Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Many new members draw strength from veterans such as yourselves! Big thanks to Mr. Ed. for taking the initiative to send out this request! Thanks Lady & Rusty for this, but ... My request was really directed at those 'oldies' who rarely post(unlike you of course). I'm sure you remember when you were a new quitter and how much it meant when an 'oldie' stated how much better their life was having quit. My pledge now is: when I get to a quit of 1 year plus, I will ALWAYS revisit and post a couple of times a week. I would not be quit now I hadn't found the SSC and I am indebtted. A request from Mr. Ed.
Please would all you Oldies who are happily quit post once in a while so that new quitters are made aware of how great it can be to be an ex-smoker!
Quitting smoking is the single greatest thing I have ever done in my life (including child birth). I love my smoke free life and this past year has been the best year of my entire life. I don't ever care to repeat those first two months again, however, it was worth every tear I cried, every scream I screamed, every bit of craziness I went through, and every bout of depression I experienced to get to where I am now. Being an ex-smoker is a soul searching, life changing experience. I enjoy it! Come on "oldies". We hae been requested to post about how great it is to be an exsmoker! This is an easy request! Well, I was going to post here, but I already post a bunch, so I guess that leaves me out. :confuse: But for any newbie reading this, please ignore my "tongue in cheek" first sentence and know that we veterans are all so very greatful for our quits and for our new lives. Never let anything stand in the way of your good judgement to quit smoking. Ignore any naysayers and sickarette addicts. Make your own course and follow it. Afterall, it's YOUR life you are saving!
