A very good reason to keep your quit!

When I went to bed last night I couldn't get right to sleep so I lay there thinking of how I can't believe I've really gone this long without a cigarette.(I'm riding the wave of a high point right now, and just lovin' it and taking full advantage of it) because you never know when a "craving" might strike and send your emotions crashing. That's when we fight back with a full arsenal of coping tools, a lot patience, a lot of deep breathing, and a lot of mints, gum, and water. And one very good reason to keep this quit. In previous quits, say 3 days or more, that very first cigarette would send me back into a spiral. First I would feel a tingling sensation, then my heart would start to race. After that second cig the headaches would begin. And definitely by the end of the day, my enery would be sapped, and I really noticed a difference in the way I felt. IT WAS NOT GOOD! Physically, I feel sooooo much better now, and my sense of smell and taste has greatly improve. Just knowing all these things really helps when a "crave" strikes. Food for thought. Jan, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. A very good post. Perhaps you should print it and put it in your emergency coping kit for future cravings? Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
