I KNOW POSTING AND READING HELPS ME A LOT. JUST TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE REALLY CARES ABOUT YOU AND YOUR HEALTH MAKES A DIFFERENCE. IT ALSO PASSES THE TIME WHEN THE CRAVINGS GET BAD. I QUIT FOR 36 YEARS AND FINALLY HAD A RELAPSE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT, BUT NOW I KNOW I CAN DO IT AGAIN. TRY TO STAY STRESS FREE IF IT IS POSSIBLE IN TODAYS WORLD INSO??? POSTING HELPS ME A LOT. I can say that when I slipped on day 40 that I had spent the previous week avoiding this site. But, you see Mr. Ed, It's not that I felt I was past needing the support. Something inside myself wanted to hide from this site. There was a brewing. I should have responded by coming more to the site. I was only on day 40. I remember thinking that others had posted something significant at day 30 or 40 and I distinctly felt that I was not in a position to do that. To me it's kind of like having a baby. The first time you do it, you're confident and cocky. The second time around, after having some realization of the miracle of life, you are more apprehensive, knowing everything that can go wrong. At least it was that way for me. I'm at a different point in my life today than I was 14 years ago when I had my most significant quit. Today it seems that there is so much more at stake with messing with my coping mechanisms and the status quo. I've got to get my confidence back. One day it'll click. In the mean time. I need to stay close. For me personally, I need to read and to post often. I also realized since my big slip that I didn't do what so many often said to do and that was to post..even with the word HELP and people would come to my aid. In my initial quit I posted often, but I held back a lot of what I was really feeling about a variety of things and that was my major downfall in the end. Then and now (in my new quit) I jumped right back into the site posting personal threads and also responding to many others. Bottom line.. I need to be here and I thank you all for being so inviting. I agree with you Monica. I need to read and post often. Even though I've struggled, if I wasn't reading and posting, I probably wouldn't be here, and quitting might not be a thought. Because of this wonderful group, I took the time to research another method of quitting, i.e. the Zyban. The patch alone wasn't cutting it. I said I would lay low until Jan. 13(my quit date), but my hot little mitts won't or can't leave the keyboard alone. So remember everyone, post, post and post again!!!! Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0
