Denial ain't a river in Egypt...

Hi Fish - Look at you! You are non-smoker and you are practicing for a marathon! You ARE a catch. Unforunately, the next one doesn't usually come along until you are over the last one. Either the new ones don't live up in comparison or you, oops, forget and talk about the old one....it really is true that the right one often comes along when you aren't looking. Just like a bad friend, a bad husband or a bad wife, we smokers sometimes used our addiction to deal with loneliness instead of getting out there and finding a good friend or a good partner. Never settle for second best...after you have done so well. Personally, for sometime, I have considered myself as unattractive because I am a smoker. (And I suspect that's because many people do find smoker's unattractive). You have already made great friends here, you are fit, you are healthy...you are going to meet the right person when the time is right! My boyfriend and I broke up a few months ago and i'm still in denial too...and now especially again that he's living with me temporarily due to mold problems where he was living....ahhhh. Makes it that much more difficult but i'm a sucker and can't say no...lol. Anyways..wanna go on a date? :p We can vent together My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,464 Amount Saved: $203.84 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 50 Seconds: 35

Fish, I know I'm no relationship expert by any means, but the fact that you truly care about her really comes through in your post. But, I also know that you are a wonderful person who any woman would be lucky to have and if she can't see that, then it's her loss. Do you really want to be with somebody who's not 100% completely sure about you? I know it's tough, but you deserve the absolute best! Don't settle for any less! Crave the Quit! Fishoutofwater It is really, really hard when you are so in love. Dont tag along with the lady; she may come around later. Let her wonder about what you are doing by not supplying anymore emails to her. Keep your quit going and continue to pursue other women alternatives. Good men find great women as there are many great women and few good men. Be patient, mingle and be aware of the ones who are eyeing you! Good luck! Many go through numbers, find that special one and the prior hardships become memories. You will see as time marches on. Long quit like me, see! Keep it up, no reason to smoke! I have equated quitting smoking with giving up a meaningful relationship. My ex-husband was abusive, but I went back to him time after time...why? I dunno..., but I did until I reached the point that I just could not and would not do it anymore. Same thing with smoking...I go back to it time after time...why? I dunno..., but (hopefully) this will be the time that I have reached that point where I could not and would not do it anymore. Sometimes you just have to lay it down and walk away. Never look back...NOPE...It's easy to say, and a hard thing to do! Good luck, Fish...to me you sound like quite a catch! ;) Pun intended! :) I'm a crotchety, old, dried-up, middle-aged woman with five kids. I am married and both of us are (armed) cops that just recently quit smoking, so...no, I'm not interested in a date....I just know you were dying to ask me out! :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,244 Amount Saved: $192 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 13 Mins: 26 Seconds: 16

Hey Fish, I have everything you are thinking that you want and I'm not sure if I want it. I think when we are going threw this quit process we are just so wishy washy. Hang on tight and things will fall into place. Everything in our life happens for a reason we just need to take the time to really look at what we have and what our next step will be. My thought's are with you.
