One full year of being smoke free. That is a fantastic accomplishment. Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Indeed, Lady, you are one helluva quitter. Giving up addiction is not easy but, you have always been the one to remind us how lovely the freedom is. Guess I'll take down your quote from my fridge, you know, the one about how you used to want to smoke all the time and, after a year, never feeling this way again. I think we are there. :) NOPE My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 342 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,857 Amount Saved: $1710 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 5 Mins: 8 Seconds: 47

My Lady, Last year at the age of fifty, I hardly had the breath to climb a flight of stairs. I only had the puff to suck the nicotine from the twenty plus cigarettes per day that dictated how I lived my life. A life where I coughed and spluttered from dawn till dusk, dreading the moments I couldnt fill my lungs with smoke Last year, I nervously enrolled on an internet forum full of strangers, a last gasp attempt to beat the drug that sucked the energy from me. I was very pleased to communicate with a bunch of like minded people call The Smobers. They accompanied me on a journey to the dizzy heights of being a non smoker, lead and inspired by a special lady My Lady My journey was very similar to yours. At times I felt I was climbing an un-climbable mountain. Although I posted with positive words, and told jokes, I was trying to hide a depression which I believe was caused by loosing my old friend the fag. However, I never felt alone on the mountain because I was climbing in the company of some of the best people in the world, the Smobers This year, I started climbing a different mountain. I returned to a hobby I loved twenty years ago and could only dream of in the later years of my addiction. Climbing real mountains. Last Sunday while I took this picture, I though of the Smobers and one Lady in particular. I know that if our paths had never crossed, I would not have seen that view. Perhaps this post may seem a little different to the usual Congratulation post, My Lady I hope it does, because I not only want to Congratulate you on your one year of Freedom, I want to Thank you for assisting me climb my mountain to Freedom CONGRATULATIONS AND THANKS TO MY LADY from Smogs Have a great day and I hope you have a great view from the top My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/7/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 388 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,769 Amount Saved: 1862.4 Life Gained: Days: 64 Hrs: 6 Mins: 25 Seconds: 53

My Dear Mr. Smoggs, I don't mean to single you out but I had to address you personally and separate from everyone else. No matter how long you stay away from the board it seems that any time I am having a really rough time, you pop up out of no where. There have been times you didn't know what to say to me but just being there was all I needed. Your friendship is very special to me. You are the kind of friend that quietly takes my hand and will sit with me when I just don't want to be alone. You taught me about green lights and have told me endless stories and jokes to keep the green lights lit. Today, as I celebrated this one year anniversary, I took a picture of the view from the top of this mountain that we have reached together. When I was there, I thought of you. The view is amazing. Thank you for helping me to reach this point. Every once in a while, in our lives, special people will come along and touch our lives and somehow we just know we have made a friend for life. You are that kind of special someone to me. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you. The view!
