Dear Worrier, I was just wondering what happened at the Neurologist? You had said your doctor had made you an appointment. Please let me know :) Thanks foxybrowngg

Hi Worrier, I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that i have many of the same symptoms you do. It really depends on whether i'm experiencing anxiety or panic attacks. I also have tremors, lose feeling in my limbs, have sweaty/clammy palms, dizzines, and sometimes headaches. I know how scary it is. I recently had an episode with intense panic when i thought that i too, had possibly contracted a sickness, which could have been prevented were it not for my carelessness. It became irrational, and i only felt better when time assured me i was still healthy. Hang in there!

I, too, am suffering from anxiety and (most recently) panic attacks. I'm 32. Ever since 1991, I have felt like something was "caught in my throat" and I went to two doctors to see what it was. They couldn't find anything. Been that way ever since, but I just got used to it. Now I realize it was anxiety. Then, over the last 3 weeks, a LOT has happened. I have a very stressful job (I'm an engineer, promoted to project manager 8 months ago, and the only female). I catch heck from everyone in the book because I'm the liaison between the customer and the company, and all I get is bad news. Anyway, the past few months have been very tough at work. So with that occupying my daytime hours, when I go home I care for 6 feline leukemia positive cats, one of which had a seizure two weekends ago. I also care for strays (get them vaccinated and spayed/neutered) so money's tight. One of them that I'd been caring for (but had not been able to catch during the day to take into the vet) showed up with a bum leg. That time I caught him, and hauled him in the next day. Turned out to be a bite of some sort. Well, one month later he bit me. I went to the doc, they put me on antibiotics, and it cleared up in 4 days. 10 days after he bit me, he disappeared. Haven't seen him in 7 weeks. So my mother says "you sure he didn't have rabies?" OK, so meltdown #1 happened. Too late for me to get the preventative shots, you know. So it's a wait and see. But I ended up in the ER, with blood pressure double what it normally is. Immediately following that, I began having ear pain, nausea, and facial/neck numbness/tingling. Scared me to death. I went to the doctor, she said I probably have a sinus infection, gave me antibiotics and decongestant. The next day, I had a major episode of head rushing to the rest of my body pins and needles feeling, then like a burning/ice feeling all over, too. Doc changed my antibiotic and decongestant. Meanwhile, facial/neck numbness/tingling switched to the OTHER side of my face. My hands would pour sweat at the drop of a hat. Occasionally the tingling would shoot out to the rest of my body, and the room would seem real bright or real dim. It was like a bad dream that wouldn't go away. Two days later, I went back to the do

I am a healthy 38 year old who the doctors think is suffering from anxiety. Although I have had two years of family trouble and am constantly worrying about finances and the stress of my job, I still think there is something medically wrong. About a month ago, I awoke from sleep with a short sharp pain shooting through my head. Later that day, it felt like there was water in my ears. Several times I shook my head back and forth to see if it would go away (I got dizzy from doing so). The next day, I started feeling lightheaded and weak. I thought I may have cause some brain or spinal cord damage when I shook my head so many times. A trip to outpatients revealed that anxiety was causing these symptoms. For the next several hours I searched the internet and convinced myself I had MS or some other neurological disorder - I really started to worry!!! For the next week, the following symptoms persisted: - Tight pressure in the back of my head and around my nose - limbs feeling detached from my body - Hot hands and cold feet - tingling on the left side of my face, left arm/leg - Slight feeling like water trickling down my leg - Confusion A trip to my family doctor only seemed to enfore the anxiety issue. I had an EKG, reflex tests, and xrays on my head and everything was o.k. After the pressure stopped in my head, I began to feel strange feelings in my left arm and leg. There is no weakness, just a weird feeling. The feeling of numbness around my left temple and slight tremors (shaking) in my arms and legs are really starting to worry me too. I have been on Paxil for the past four days. My doctor is getting me in to see a neurologist, but still figures it's severe anxiety. The symptoms are very persistent and have been around for about three weeks. Is this really anxiety???? Is anyone else experiencing these long-lasting symptoms? Thanks.
