Ashes to ashes.....

I know how painful losing an animal can be. Last year, we lost a 2 year old cat that was run over by a car and on Sept 9th of this year we had to put down our 18 year old cat due to illness. It all hits pretty hard to say the least. What I really like from your post is the message you are conveying...no matter what happens in life, we never have to smoke again. Thank you for this, it is very encouraging. I am sorry about your loss but very happy about your 200 days. Keep up the good work. cyberduke sorry to here about your cat, but it was great that you did not even think of cigs as an option to your stress. I myself had a bad situation this weekend and loss my temper to some stranger because this person was so out of line (wall-mart employee) anyway i never once thought about having a cig. when I was laying in bed that night I told my husband you know what I never even thought about having a cig when all this was happening that must mean I am healing up. I feel for you, Cybrduke. Been there, done that, and whether the pet is three or 30, it never is easy. Hope the joy of your daughter's birthday gave you some comfort, as well as your continued resolution to be smoke-free. Cy- Sorry about your cat....but you pulled through a trying time with such grace and NOT smoking! Congrats on that! Thank you for posting that. I feel relieved that at some point my first reaction to a stressful situation is not 'OMG, I need a cigarette!'. CybrDuke, I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. Nevertheless, congrats on your 200 days and the fact that even a big setback did not cause you to want to smoke. you used to smoke but you have moved on now. Simple as that. all the best Mr Ed My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,735 Amount Saved: 1680 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 10 Mins: 23 Seconds: 25

The rainbow bridge is wonderful. Check it out. Our vet sent us a card with this poem in it when I put our pet down. It still brings me to tears, even 3 years later. 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 205 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,175 Amount Saved: $670.35 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 13 Mins: 33 Seconds: 3
