Fish, Wow, I could feel the determination, and commitment in your words. You are and awesome quitter..You have turned the corner and are on your way to success. The security you feel is the confidence in yourself. What a great idea of renewing your promise. We all suffer losses during our quit, and some of those losses hurt really bad. I think in away we all loose ourselves to some sense, but only to find our true self. Oh, I'm sure ol nic was really on your case while you were typing this.. He don't let go easy, but just know that you are stronger than him. Don't you ever forget that. Sound like his last stand, so put him where he belongs. Your quit is so worth all the things you named. AND YOU DO OWN YOUR QUIT!!! A very happy Summer to you Fish!!!!! depending on which hemisphere you're in, that is sorry, Aussies, et al First day of summer. Two seasons down, a lifetime to go. Hello all. I'm OKAY, I'VE TURNED THE CORNER WITH THIS QUIT AND I'M FEELING A SECURITY THAT THE ONLY WAY I COULD POSSIBLY START SMOKING AGAIN IS IF I LITERALLY, NOT FIGURATIVELY, SLIPPED AND FELL ON A LIT CIGARETTE WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY INHALING. Having said that and for safety's sake and to knock on virtual wood, I'll renew my promise here that: I will post here for support before I will ever give in and give this fight up. This site and the support provided has been a keystone in maintaining my final quit. From the beginning with this quit, something has been different. I made a promise to myself to never go back to where I was. I was not in control. Smoking dictated my life and I let it for so long. Because of my addiction and my negative thinking, I lost friends and the girl I loved, but most affecting, I lost myself somewhere along the line. I promised myself that I would fight this for as long and for as far as necessary. I won't give up ever, but even as I type this, I feel a little nagging fear, that old fear that I'm destroying, the one that says you may get weak, Todd, you may not be able to stand on your own, you may need them (smokes) someday - do you really want to commit yourself to these people who you only know through a website - and what if y3k comes early, where will they be then. Holy crap. These are the last dying whispers of my old addicted self. I am beating this thing. I believed I could and I am. And it's worth it. Absolutely, Synonyms: actually, categorically, certain, conclusively, decidedly, decisively, definitive, definitely, doubtless, easily, exactly, positively, precisely, really, right on*, straight out*, sure enough*, surely, truly, unambiguously, unconditionally, unquestionably YES I do want to commit myself to these people, these souls, that have weathered the storm before, with and after me. Its been 6 months since I decided this is it, I want to be in charge again. I want my life back. I dont want to kill myself and I dont want to be a slave. The person who I am does not smoke. The person who I am is confident, is health
