wonderful post barbara. we have all probably tried to convince ourselves that we can have ONE. But, as we all found out, ONE is tooo many and ONE THOUSAND is never enough. We have to be true to NOPE..not one puff ever. That is the only way we will stay quit. wise reminder from a wise poster..thanks! Thanks. I was just thinking really somber thoughts cuz of course people are now saying to me "well, 10 days, you oughta be over it now" or "well, you got it done, now" and such like that. And I guess I was expecting a little more applause....
but in the end it is just yourself. Doing it just for yourself. This is all about yourself.
And that's really what it's all about, isn't it? When I was indulging my addiction, all I could think was I should quit, I must quit, I'm gonna quit; well, now I HAVE! So thanks for this reminder. Great stats you got there Barb! Way to go. Isn't that the truth. My smoking friends ask me how I am doing, I wonder if they are hoping that I have started back. I was a bit irriatable the other day, it was one of the harder days. I made a comment about craving a smoke, my friend looked at me like I was carzy....It's been almost a month. OMG!! You have to do it for yourself!! Hi Barbara - I think that's why this site is so important to me...because the people here "get" what a HUGE deal this is...whether we are one day, one week, one year or 10 years into our quit. Every week there has been someone here to mop my tears, listen to my rants or celebrate my achievements....and I love it! On the other hand, quitting smoking is something that I have done "just for me". With the exception of SCC, my hubby and my cats, I give absolutely noone credit for my quit except me. I also have learned from our good friend Marie, to reward myself regularly (and I plan to celebrate and reward myself for a good long time) But, speaking of accolades....I do believe you are due...Congratulations on 55 successful days! Way to go...do you have a big reward planned for 2 months? Barbara You are SO right I smoked for 50 years and 'cut down' SO many times. I am SO proud of myself I have said it before here I am a lilly livered wimp(That will confuse you Americans)and if I can do it ANYBODY can!!
