---------- .... Quitting is one of the most personal things you will ever do in your life. No one can quit for you. No one can lend you the strength and courage needed to get through the tough times. People can support you but even that only goes so far. The true quit comes from within. ... ------------- Good post, Lady ! "Perspective" is so right and needed to maintain focus with curtesy. Thank you Lady for a timely reminder to return to balance and a ditching of agendas which potentially distort unconditional support. How true Lady.
Developing coping skills to deal with life without smoking doesnt happen over night
You are so right. It doesn't happen over night. But many should take comfort in knowing that learning to cope can in and of itself become a coping skill. When we are hit with an emotion crave, refocus the mind on literature that teaches new coping skills; get busy practicing those new coping skills. It is hard to crave when you are reading and practicing a healthy alternative. ;p No time like the present to get working on acquiring new life skills. They will serve us well. Lady, I agree with this. Part of keeping things in perspective is recognising that we don't all agree and that our quits can result in us being over-sensitive and angry. And remembering that we are here for everybody, especially the new quitters!
