You keep me grounded!!!

its later afternoon now and I felt I just needed to check in to re-affirm my non smoking lifestyle. Doing this 3 or 4 times a day really helps to keep me grounded. My kids complain now that I'm hogging the computer. Too bad, they'll survive. On my way home from grocery shopping I stopped at Tim Horton's to grab a coffee. Took it home, sat outside on the swing and drank it. That was my usual smoking spot. I didn't stay out there very long. It brought back too many memories (that sounds pathetic doesn't it, you'd think I'd lost my best friend.) Anyway, I'm finishing the last of my coffee right now, while I'm posting, and this feels much more comfortable. (Coffee tastes better, too!) The weekend is coming...ahhhhggggg. I know I'll be fine, just have to keep busy. Hi Jan58, Its not pathetic, the last couple weeks that I smoked I sat out on the patio so I would have a smoke free home when I quit. I would have my morning coffee out there or evening or whenever. I haven't sat out there since the quit because I'm sure i would want to smoke. The weeds in the flowerbed are getting pretty high... Like you I'm drinking my Timmy's at the computer these days My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 973 Amount Saved: $133.28 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 16 Mins: 20 Seconds: 42

I smoked in the house. That's it...I'm moving!LOL Wish I could! I was a cleaning fanatic before I quit, now I have to make myself do the basics. I cooked ALL the time before I quit. Thank goodness for microwaves, kid cuisine and ramen noodles! :) Whatever your routine before...shake it up a little. Golly, I wish I would have NEVER smoked in the house, that makes it a bit harder. Opposite of you, I find myself living outdoors these days. Have a wonderful and BUSY weekend...keeping all my quit buddies in my prayers this weekend! {{{hugs}}}

Hi Jan, Stay stong and stay close. In the Intro section you can learn to download the instant messenger and chat...perhaps line up a mentor. This is a new feature at the SSC and I think it would be VERY helpful. I spent alot of time here just reading in the beginning. Lots of people clean the daylights out of their house the first week. Great distraction and you stay busy. Congratulations......this is the best decision ever for yourhealth and well being. And it really is quite doable. If I can do it, anybody can :)I'm ashamed to admit how many decades I puffed those nasty lttle coffin nails. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Hi Jan, Congrats on your 4 days! I lived on the computer during the beginning of my quit. Whatever works, do it. Quitting will be the best thing you ever do for you and your family.
