Hi Tiffany It's it great when we recognize the progress we have made. What a great gift to your son! And you are right, we are so lucky to have all of the encouragement that we get from this room. As far as the cranky part goes, you are welcome to join the "Cranky Club". There are many of us that do it very well! You sound like you are doing a great job and focussing on keeping positive! Way to go! Tiffani-Sounds like your quit is strong and you have the right attitude. As a smoker, I was concerned only for my 'need'. Now that I no longer smoke, like you, I realize how I abused my parental authority by subjecting my children to all those carcinogens! Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. (Somewhere in Corinthians, I believe) ---and that is exactly what we are doing now for our kids by quitting. And, of course, helping ourselves along the way also!

Well today is offically day 9 of me being smoke free. I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone for the support that I have been shown here. You are all by far the most supportive people in my life right now. This has become my release as I am trying to create new habits. I am starting to love who I am becoming. I feel like I pay more quality attention to my son now that I am not thinking about smoking all the time it is an incredible feeling. I also got in my car this morning and it actually did not smell like smoke...that was the best smell ever. It really makes me sad to think that I smoked in my car all that time when my son had to ride in the car too. It was my choice to smoke and that was soooooooo selfish of me to submit him to the dangers that come with the stale smell of the second hand smoke. I am just thankful that I never smoked with him in the car, I think that is the most horrible thing ever to submit children to that...but still smoking in my car even without him in there was not that much better. Anyway I will get off my rampage now...I am feeling a bit cranky today, but I am feeling better everyday. All I wanted to say was THANKS to everyone who has sent me words of encouragment...you will never know how much that means to me!!! Have a blessed day. You mentioned 'Rampage.' Dear one, stay on the rampage toward or against tobacco. Get as mad at that junk and what it was doing to you and it will help. You are right about the stale smoke in the car. I recall a study about this in the past where it too was considered dangerous to our family and friends. Let's do this together.
