Thanks all you wonderful people.......:) Today I felt strong enough to try this boogy without a patch and rely on the odd half a lozenger instead.........so far so good. But then my stress levels have been low today so far. We are into the 19th day of spring here in Australia and we have a beautiful 28 deg day today in Melbourne and its quite inspiring. I'm finding the weather can play a big role in this quit business. Being more inclined to get out and do stuff.....more distractions. Again thank you for your support and collective wisdom Savvvy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 160 Amount Saved: $64 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 26 Seconds: 55

Hi All...............:) Geeee's what a week. Well my partner has gone back to smoking and a part of me is sooooooooooo glad. I feel bad saying that but she really was being a beast. She went back to smoking last Saturday. So I'm on my own with this now, by that I mean on the home front. I am at a transitional point in my life at the moment anyway and adding not smoking to the mix is really cranking up the challenge. Yesterday was not a good day at all....I could feel depression setting in bigtime and by the time I went to bed.....I was total yuk. But still I haven't smoked.....and today is a new day (in my part of the world). Having this message board to come to is prooving to be VERY important for me. Just knowing that there are a whole bunch of people out there in the same boat so to speak, is just plain comforting really. Last night I realised how gloomy I was becoming so I looked up the words of that amazing song by the python crew......'Always look on the bright side of life', from the film the 'Life of Brian' and downloaded the Lyrics. For anyone else suffering from the gloomies......here tis. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life Words by Eric Idol Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best... And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing. And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow. Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow. So always look on the bright side of death Just before you draw your terminal breath Life's a piece of **** When you look at it Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughing as you go Just remember that th

Heya Savvvy, LOL... I'd forgotten that song! (Monty Python) Can't help but feel a little better when you hear that one. I know how you feel. Those blues were tough for me... but they should pass for you. Just have patience and don't forget to be kind to yourself as your body goes through all these crazy chemical changes... it's healing. Of course, if it gets too tough or lasts too long, see your doc. Whatever you do though, don't give up that quit you have going. Congratulations on your completion of "hell week". You seem to be doing great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 593 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,877 Amount Saved: $2117.01 Life Gained: Days: 62 Hrs: 21 Mins: 2 Seconds: 37

Hi Savvvy and welcome! Great song! I decided years ago that I want it played at my funeral. What's the point of being miserable? - have a laugh and celebrate my life not be morbid about my passing! Quitting can be tough but you don't have to be miserable. Most people are as happy as they choose to be. I choose to be happy and you know what, now that I don't smoke any more, there is plenty to be happy about!! Keep on quitting and distracting yourself and day by day your quit will build. Good luck and congrats on those 8 smokefree days already! Penitent (the Pom and Ashes keeper!) be careful playing with the patch program.......I think it's generally best to follow the program. and remember that the quit is an individual thing....it doesn't really matter what anyone else does or thinks....this is YOUR baby....take good care of it ;) Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1719 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 68,777 Amount Saved: $9798.3 Life Gained: Days: 224 Hrs: 6 Mins: 32 Seconds: 8
