Rather odd Side Effect

17 years ago 0 1128 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Day 5...... First day back at work after the weekend. Have an odd side effect of giving up. I went cold turkey, am over the worst of the initial withdrawls but i seem to have an odd side effect.... ummm am rather gassy (if you know what i mean). Its awesome looking at the clock to actually see what the time is and not looking at it to see if its smoke time or not. The day is still the same, the time keeps a tickin... tick tick tick only this time its without a cig :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 137 Amount Saved: $51 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 32 Seconds: 31

O thank goodness its embarrasing :p lol My stomach is churning like no tomorrow! I cant beleive that i left it this long to quit. I feel like a new person, i really do feel incredible. NOt only because im not full of those chemicals i think its because i know i will never smoke again and it was MY choice. i told my family i quit today. My sister is so proud of me and my neice is really happy that her aunt doesnt smoke anymore. My sister likened my quit to her having to quit chocolate, she said even though she doesnt have it every day, if someone told her she was never allowed to have it again ever she doesnt know if she could do it. I know she was only trying to identify what i was going through and i love that she did that. :) nearly home time My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 137 Amount Saved: $51 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 33 Seconds: 28

I am still having this side effect even though I went on the patch. It is especially bad while working out! It is very embarrassing and it seems to be totally uncontrolable no matter what you do. I have tryed all the solutions that breaking free suggested and also benefiber, gax x and beano and no help! It is really discouraging because here I am so proud that I smell better, and then I do that! If anyone finds a solution or suggestion that I haven't tryed, that would be great. Anyways, I am right there with you! Intestinal and bowel movements can be temporarily affected while they adjust to the absence of nicotine. Stress, anxiety or normal sense of loss depression can cause our stomach or GI area to generate pain and/or gas. Tissues numbed and deadened by years of nicotine use are healing. It isn't uncommon to experience temporary pain. We can aid the healing process by drinking at least eight glasses of water each day. Increasing the amount of leafy vegetables, roughage, whole grains, bran or prunes in our diet will aid our intestines in cleansing and in moving things along. Moderate exercise may also help with circulation and movement. I am still gassy, but not as much as I use to be. It seems to gradually be going back to normal.
