Hey Phillip, Those numbers are looking good on you too! It just seems like yesterday that we were both looking towards the beach, just hoping to get there... Congratulations to you too! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Well, yesterday came and went, and in the pie chart in my head I notched out another piece of this year. For some strange reason, this quit has been a mental pie chart. In the beginning, I had a pig smoky circle that just needed to be filled. Then there was one-twelfth of the chart gone. The next month it was one-sixth, then one-fourth, a third and so on. Being an English Major, this was a shocking way to look at my new non-smoking life, but often late at night my mind rumbles to distant foreign lands, it had to eventually make it to math. So, here I sit, and Ive made it to two-thirds of a year without a cigarette. Next month will be three-quarters of a year, then five-sixths and eleven-twelfths and a fell year, and I ask myself. What then. Well, I guess, then Ill be half-way to my second year. As Ive written, weve moved in the past two months and I cant find anything But I went on a search for the years of journals Ive kept The ones I havent found the time to convert to the computer, and late at night, when I cant sleep, and Im tired of worrying about what still needs to be done at the new house, or what some contractor hasnt done to the specs I like, I re-read the journals. Ive found a couple amazing things. My longest quit To date but still, Im certain it was my longest quit, was 153 days and I was on the patch for 120 days of that. Over the last thirteen years of my relation ship with my partner Ive tried to quit some eighteen times, not counting this time. Each time, re-reading the journal, I can see from day one that I really didnt want to quit, I was just going through the process to make someone else happy. Id say Im well into my quit this time, just wait for the next chunk of this years piece of the pie to be filled in May you all be as peaceful with your quits as I am at this moment, and if youre not, may calm be just around the corner. Peace, Jackey My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/22/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 244 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,896 Amount Saved: $1019.92 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 6 Mins: 37 Seconds: 23
