Bubba, Wow, look at your stats! That is something else! I hope to be there someday! What are you going to do with that extra year you have earned? Yes, I am getting mad now at the nicodemon as well as the nicotine pushers. The more I learn, the more I can't believe that here in the U.S., this is all perfectly legal! I could go on and on about how they robbed me, my parents and my kids of our lives but also, I had a brother that died of crib death (which now has been shown to have some links to smoking during pregnancy) and I have a brother who was born with Cerebral Palsey and no one knows why. I guess that the nicotine pushers could give me back my money, but they can never restore all that! Thats a lyric from part of a song but unfortunately its the cigademon in my mind. He just floats around in there like he owns the space and he doesnt even pay rent. So as much as i try to evict him its difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting these thoughts out. I try to keep my self busy but then all of a sudden hes there. Im on day six and thought he would be a little bit less. I try to handle the cravings by other means such as chewing gum( my jaws are so sore that i can barely talk(hubby like it though) just kidding. My moods have been really good, i havent experienced any nastys at all so thats good and i already notice that i do not have flem or sinus problems now. So i guess it can only get better i hope as far as feeling better, thats what is keep telling myself, positive notes all the time. My husband still smokes and he smokes in the sitting room with the door closed if he gets up in the middle of the night. Yes thats hard but face it i will run into people smoking as the non smokers used to run into me. But I hope in time he will do the same. cant force him only let him see how much better i feel and the will to live a healthier life. Our Son who is 16 is my inspiration. Every day he says "I'm proud of you mom" keep on going. I had a heartattach 2 years on fathers day and it scared the hell out of my son. So not only do i do this for me but for him as well. I have a 18 year old daughter as well but she only thinks of herself at the moment, everything is me me me. But deep down i know she is proud as well. There see all this writing got me through one of those waves, i guess i better get some work done now. thanks for listening and talk to you all soon ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 79 Amount Saved: $43.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 37 Seconds: 54

I agree with Bubba. I think getting pissed off at Nicodemon helps. Imagine yourself kicking his a$$. Another thing that helps is my ipod/music/walkman. I can turn it on and block everything else out. I can concentrate on the words of the songs. Exercise is another good one. And deep breathing. Those 4 things I think have helped me the most. Oh and posting and reading and watching TV or reading a book or gardening or laundry or an arts and crafts thing ... Oh my list is getting longer ... I'm so excited ... What you need to do is get as mad as you can toward that nicotine monster and what it has been doing to you in the past. I hate it with all my heart, body and soul. I detect the thought of that horrible piece of crap. Just to imagine me ever placing another of those things in my mouth makes me want to throw up right here on this keyboard. Whewwwwwwwww - Now I feel better. Can you get real mad about this? If so, you can shake loose of its bonds. Cast all thoughts of him aside and continue to strengthen your resolve with knowledge, knowledge, knowledge and then some more knowledge.
