Cigarettes Not Smoked

I've had company all weekend long, all kinds of social stuff going on ... and no smokes! The first day was a little difficult (Friday), but it is now Sunday and I am not craving. I had a couple of nicodemon thoughts, but they were only fleeting ... of course I kicked nicodemon's butt. LOL! We went to a movie and not once did I think of getting up and going for a smoke! Exciting!!!! We have gone out to eat several times ... after dinner I just pop in a piece of gum and I'm cool. I hardly ever think of having a smoke after food now ... now it is automatic to pop in some gum. The mental cravings are getting less and less everyday. I do have an 'anxious' day every once in a while and I don't like them. They are hell, because I don't feel like a very fun person to be around. But everyone has been pretty understanding. But for the most part ... I'll have to say I have had more good days than bad. I think I am on my 16th day and I believe only 4 or 5 days have been 'anxious' or 'down' days. I am very pleased with my success thus far. In July I am going to Texas to visit my Mom. My whole family is. She will be so excited to know that I am still quit. I can still feel a part in me that does not feel conquered, but I understand it will take time. I can feel it, an anxious feeling in my chest sometimes, but hopefully with time it will go away someday. Ok ... I've rambled enough. ta-ta My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 505 Amount Saved: $64 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 1 Seconds: 1

My kids are all out of school now. Last day was yesterday. They have been driving me bonkers. My in-laws are arriving tonight. We are trying to get everything all ready. Sounds stressful right? It is ... and you know what? I have no desire for a smoke!!! If the thought even tries to enter my head ... I just self talk it right outta there and get busy doing something positive and productive! Is that 'up' or what!!! Yeah me! Hi guys, Thanks for this thread - I find it very supportive and helpful. I am trying to keep my focus on the positives of the quit process. This is my fourth or fifth serious attempt to quit, and hopefully those previous attempts have given me a little bit of extra knowledge & tools to help me stop smoking for good! I am having an up day today 'cause in 1 1/2 days I haven't smoked for 2 weeks. That is quite a milestone for me - usually I smoke a pack a day and have been smoking for the past 22 years! I am also having an up day today 'cause I now have $120.00 in my tin where I put $10 a day for each day that I don't smoke. I am also having an up day today cause some of the withdrawal side effects like disturbed sleep seem to be calming down. Do I sound like Pollyanna or what? Sorry guys! lol take care chickstarr :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 385 Amount Saved: $150 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 16

Had great day today - WHY?? Managed to get my desk cleared at work ready for the bank holiday, usually leave mosy of my work for when I get back cus I have been too busy nipping out for a cig to do anything!! Got home and cleaned the house from top to bottom, not stopping for a cig and a cuppa meant I got more done than I would normally and I didn't get out of breath. Then sat down and the craving hit - jumped up and cleaned the windows My house sparkles, I can breath, I have a free weekend and my cravings have been minimal today just cus I kept busy!! Think I may keep busy shopping tomorrow with the money I have saved by not smoking Joanne My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 593 Amount Saved: 115 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 2 Mins: 10 Seconds: 1

I am having a really good day! I woke up and decided that I would not use the gum today or any other day! I am almost out and we don't have the money for more so I am quitting turkey style. I think since I have only chewed 3 pieces a day since my quit it helped a lot. I haven't felt like I needed a piece all day and its 4pm. I know this is it! I had a couple thoughts that I needed a cig but that is all it was. More so just a thought of I would normally be having a cig right now. I am past my horrible hump I had and back on the up side, for today! I am going to take it for what it is, a good day! I don't know how much it'll mean to y'all since I've got a year under my belt, but.... I just spent two hours in the library with my kids! :) It was fun! We used to run in, grab a few books, and run out again. Couldn't stop and enjoy 'cause I had to have my fix! Today, libraries are awesome! :8|: ~lbugg~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 435 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 23,090 Amount Saved: $2871 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 10 Mins: 28 Seconds: 35
