Breaking Free,
I know the advice you are going to get from the moderators is going to conflict with what I have to say, but I think you should be fine with the smaller patches. I took the patches off after the 3rd day and I was fine. From 21 mg patch to no patch. I feel great, I do not have any nicotine in my system (and if I do it is very little) and I don't have to spend money on patches.
If I didn't think you were so strong mentally (as you said) I may give you different advice, but I think you can do this. This is all mind over matter in the end. Read Allen Carr's book : The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. You will see it is all mind over matter.
You can do this. My advice is just rip that patch off and go about your business. You don't need that patch. It is a crutch, just as cigs were.
But, if you think you cannot do it without the patch, keep the patch on, the big one or the small one.
As long as you quit.
Mira :)
