You are so awesome Ex-slave! I am so very, very happy for you! Isn't it a great feeling to know what you just accomplished? Especially when you were apprehensive about being in that type of situation, wondering if you'd smoke. Now you have been in it, and like you said, you choose not to smoke. I'm really happy that it boosted your confidence. Enjoy that feeling. Enjoy your accomplishment. Reward yourself. You deserve it. Yes, it is amazing the lies that many intelligent people believe because they suffer from an addiction. It is hard to believe that I truly didn't know that I was under the spell of addiction. What an eye opener ... I so agree with you! Cigarettes Not Smoked

This last week has been a very stressful time in my life. It has been a period where I have had good cause to be upset with family members about some very important issues that will affect my life. AND, I did not smoke!!! Not one puff! I feel so wonderful about being in the midst of a very stressful situation and not smoking my way through. I even had them available (another family member who smokes). Making through this situation without smoking has built my confidence in my ability to stay quit. How did I do it??? I never put a cig to my lips and lit it. I did, however, chew up a lot of plastic straws. Everyone have a wonderful, smoke free weekend. thanks breaking free, It is amazing how we go from "gosh, I'll never be able to quit smoking. I love smoking. Life without smoking would suck" to "gosh, why did I ever smoke. It is such a disgusting addiction" I am so thankful for everday that I have this addiction out of my life. It took me a year to really believe that I could do it!
