Smiling, Would sugar-free gum or candy help? Also, I just started sucking & gnawing on tea-tree oil toothpicks -- sounds like I'm a beaver or some type of varment ...but it does help! Just some ideas. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 72 Amount Saved: $14 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 36 Seconds: 15

Dude - You have not smoked 200 of those nasty tarsticks! That is beyond amazing and even if you are having a freakin lozenge, who cares! I do get what you mean about feeling guilty cause I just want the snake of nic to be gone completely, but this cold turkey thing is SUPER hard. I'm only on 14 nasty tarsticks not smoked and ready to punch the wall and desperate for some gum or SOMETHING. So congrats on making it to day 7 and turning to something other than that bloody nicodemon for some relief. It's so freakin hard! A gold star for you! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Mich... This worked for me. Someone said something about when you are finished eating, smoking was the signal to the brain that you were done eating. When you quit, you need to replace that signal so that the brain knows that eating time is over. I used peppermints. After every meal, I popped a peppermint in my mouth just like I use to smoke a cigarette. It really worked! Even now there are times after I eat that I crave.....A peppermint not a cigarette. It worked for me. Give it a shot and let us know if it works for you. I'm curious. :) BTW... Congratulations on making it through Hell Week! Hang in there for Heck Week, Not much better yet but you can do it!
